WILLIAM ANGLE Biographical Information

I've been looking in vain for biographical information regarding WILLIAM ANGLE, but have made some headway as follows:

• WILLIAM ANGLE apparently attended The University of Texas, Austin around 1978, or lived in Austin Texas, since I read a review of his work in an insert to "The Daily Texan" in a literary magazine attachment about that time. I will be in Austin later this year, and will try to find the time to locate this original work in the stacks and historical documents.

• I recently did a search at the US Copyright Office for William Angle, looking for his name and titles, but didn't come up with anything substantial. I understand from a lawyer friend that this is unremarkable, and doesn't necessarily imply that his works do not exist. Apparently a copyright is de-facto proof of existence, but does not necessarily mean that the work DOES NOT exist or is not protected.

• I subscribed to one of those "Find Anyone" services (paying about $50) and they couldn't find any web information on William Angle, except for his reference at The FreeLook BookStore, where he has published an e-book. This leads me to believe that William Angle may be a pen-name for someone else. However, I cannot be sure, since (naturally) I didn't have his social security number or his date of birth.

Of course, I have contacted The FreeLook BookStore and forwarded several requests for information, one a rather detailed set of interview questions. Although they have been sympathetic, they have a rock solid policy regarding author anonymity, so I am still awaiting a response from William Angle himself. They actually have been very helpful and understanding, so I have hopes that this effort will be eventually rewarded!

My Analysis Of Variation Statistical Test

I've created a concordance of the contents of "The Package", which gives me a count of words used in each story. I compared this concordance (using an analysis of variance, or ANOVA analysis) on word counts with the concordances of other books at the FreeLook BookStore. The "effect per random error" coefficient was significant for Professor Dion Gest, which indicates that this may be the same person, although the sample space was too small to make a definitive determination. (I think its pretty obvious that Dion Gest is a fictitious person vis-a-vis his "digest@freelookbookstore" e-mail address.)

Note: These ANOVA tests definitely excluded Ana Jorges as being the same writer as William Angle, which was a suspicion that I originally held. I am now sure that is not the case.

If you don't understand what an "analysis of variance" is, don't worry, its just a statistical formula for determining matches between various statistical averages.
